New Versions of Via available

Since the release of Via 1.6 last fall, we’ve been busy updating the software further. We are thus releasing two new versions today:

Via 1.6.1

The first one is Via 1.6.1. It is just a minor update and includes several bug fixes and minor improvements to the GUI as well as improved scripting support.

The second one is Via 1.7-beta. Why are we releasing a beta-version of our software? MATSim underwent quite some changes in December, bringing major changes to the events, the main output of MATSim. This resulted in Via 1.6 no longer being able to visualize and analyze MATSim results generated with the latest development snapshot of MATSim. We have since adapted Via so it should again work with the changed MATSim events (as well as with older events files), but we would like to test it more thouroughly first. Still, as many of our users are using the development-version of MATSim, we want to give them a tool to visualize and analyze their results again, thus the beta version of Via.

Please note that files created with Via 1.7-beta cannot be opened by Via 1.6, due to changes in the file format.
