Simunto bietet Werkzeuge und Unterstützung für die Arbeit mit MATSim, einer leistungsstarken agentenbasierten Verkehrssimulation.
Simunto wurde von Dr. Marcel Rieser gegründet, einem Experten für und langjährigen Mitwirkenden an MATSim, der Multi-Agenten-Verkehrssimulation.
Seit Anfang 2018 unterstützt Simunto Kunden weltweit beim Aufbau und der Optimierung ihrer MATSim-Modelle und entwickelt gleichzeitig Werkzeuge und Dienstleistungen wie

um mit
MATSim zu arbeiten.

Wir sind ein kleines Team aus engagierten Entwicklern und Forschenden. Unsere Leidenschaft ist es, Lösungen anzubieten, die die Arbeit unserer Kunden erleichtern.
Marcel
Dr. Marcel Rieser is an expert and long-standing contributor to MATSim and the founder of Simunto. With his strong software engineering skills, he often helps to improve MATSim’s performance, or helps MATSim users to advance their models and skills.
Moritz
As CTO, Moritz leads our product delivery and execution. After joining Simunto in 2021, he completed his computer science degree in 2024 and stepped into the CTO role that same year. He’s our point person for UX and design, shaping products that are both reliable and user-friendly
Nadine
Nadine leads the transport modelling efforts at Simunto since spring 2022, specializing in Creario. Her extensive transport planning expertise provides valuable guidance in the development of Via and Tramola and is highly esteemed by clients.
Christian
Dr. Christian Rakow combines a strong research background with hands-on experience in transport modelling. His work focuses on multimodal scenario design, calibration of large-scale traffic simulations, and developing custom software solutions for our clients.
Janek
Dr. Janek Laudan is a MATSim expert with several years of teaching and consulting experience. Continuing the work of his PhD thesis, he focuses on making MATSim as fast as possible. He is also a member of the Tramola development team.
Preo
Preo is a software engineer in training at Simunto. She learns from our development experts while actively contributing to the development of our products, with a particular focus on Tramola — our browser-based tool to easily manage MATSim simulations
Kavi
Kavi joined Simunto as a software developer after completing his computer science degree in 2025. With a strong ability to quickly grasp complex topics and implement them with care, he is a highly valuable member of the team.
